A Kindermusik class can help children's social and emotional skills

Research demonstrates that involvement in music and movement activities like Kindermusik from an early age helps children develop good social and emotional skills. Research also links social and emotional development with school-readiness and even with higher academic testing scores. It's no surprise. After all, the same skills that foster emotional security and social success - skills like confidence, curiosity, cooperation, self-regulation, and good listening - predict cognitive achievement and academic success as well.

Kindermusik supports Change 4 Life

Change 4 Life is the government initiative to encourage children to be more healthy by eating properly and doing more exercise.
Kindermusik programmes contain and music and movement. We realise children learn and develop better when they are able to move their bodies to music. It improves their sense of balance, their spatial awareness, burns up energy and its lots of fun. Each 45 minute class can be a significant contributor to the daily exercise recommended by the government, with dancing, instrument play along, fine and gross motor movement time, rocking, object play and more.
If you are yet to experience a Kindermusik class, call your local educator for a free trial.

A dad's perspective on Kindermusik

Here's some glowing words from a Dad who recently attended Mich Mazzocco's (pictured right) Kindermusik Village class in Egham with son Harrison. Thank you for sharing!

The Long Road to Wembley - A father’s tale of music lessons with my son

With visions of double platinum albums, stadium gigs and early retirement as my motivation we looked at the options to help develop Harrison's musical ability. We found that we had two possible routes we could follow to start our son on this journey, Monkeymusic or Kindermusik. Now neither of these were going to teach Harrison the chord progression to smoke on the water, but would provide him an opportunity to learn some basic things about music, but also spend some time with his dad. We decided to enrol with Kindermusik for a five week course every Saturday morning (in Egham with Mich). Now, Kindermusik was not what I expected, but it didn't matter as this was quality time with my son that I just never got during the working week. The lessons combine music, movement and help develop a number of skills it even teaches relaxation techniques (which Harrison seemed to enjoy nearly as much as I did!). Of course like any toddler his particular favourite activity was playing with the instruments especially the drums and generally anything that made lots of noise! It was great to watch I just don't get to spend much time with Harrison and seeing him as a confident little toddler made me very very proud indeed.I would really recommend Kindermusik, especially for dads that are looking for something a little different to do with their children. It’s a lot more that just another group session for signing nursery rhymes, and Harrison has really enjoyed the approach that the lessons take. So a great thing to do on Saturday mornings, and as its just Harrison and Daddy we get a chance to play AC/DC
